Our dear friends at OWN records have announced the release of “Lady”. They are taking orders for those of you in Europe. The US release is forthcoming via Kilby records. It should be available very very soon. I hope everyone finds use for this collection of songs. I did my best with what I had in me and around me… I think.

Hello all,

Late late late Last night we (TaughtMe) returned to our newest hometown after performing three shows between vast stretches of desert driving. We played twice in Utah and once in Denver, Colorado. For two of these shows we were blessed to be the opening act for the ever-radiant LOW. Speaking for myself, this was an extraordinarily intimidating afffair. I have been an ardent admirer/lover of the band for about a decade and the situation found bees and butterflies colliding within me. Nevertheless, the shows went well and we return happier than we left. We prepared some T-shirts to sell at these shows and have plenty left over. You can buy them by clicking the T-shirt image below.  They are printed on American Apparel and we have the following sizes:

Hi droogs.

This is really getting old, isn’t it? Reading about the misfortunes of Uzi & Ari. Must be a curse upon us. But, as Christian Bale said last night in ‘The Dark Knight,’ the night is darkest just before the dawn. We hope.

Last night at about 4am, some hoodlums broke into our house, while we were sleeping and made off with the following items:

Roland Juno 106 Synthesizer (black in color)
 Nord Electro-2 keyboard (red in color)
 Fender Twin Reverb amplifier
 Fender Mustang bass guitar (white in color)
 Boss DD-5 Digital Delay
 Boss DD-6 Digital Delay
 Dell Inspiron Notebook Laptop (black in color)
 Behringer 1204 FX mixer (dark gray in color)
 Tascam 4 Track (light gray)
 Korg Electribe ESX1 drum machine (red in color)
 Ludwig Acrolyte snare drum (matte silver in color)

and various power cords, guitar cables, etc., totalling about 4500 dollars worth of equipment. i’ll post pictures soon.

If you know anyone who might have acquired new equipment like this, please be a good samaritan and let us know. This is just happening too often to bands, it’s crippling. We already make such a meager earning, we don’t even break even. It’s getting harder and harder to justify doing this anymore, it’s just an uphill battle constantly. This is the third time we have been robbed, but this is just ugly, to be robbed in your own home while you are sleeping.

Anyway, I would feel awful to ask for donations again. So many of you were so generous in donating for the vinyl, I know our fan base isn’t huge and you must be exhausted with your own struggle and strife.

Please tell as many people as you know about this, maybe someone knows something about it. Just let’s get the word out.

We will, however be throwing a sort of benefit show/party in downtown Salt Lake in late August. We’re trying to do it on a rooftop or something cool that a lot of people will want to come to. I’ll post more information as I get it.

Sorry to be such a downer. I posted a new song, ‘Wolf Eggs,’ from the new record, a little earlier than I had planned, to lighten the mood. I don’t want you coming to our page and just feeling bad all the time. We’ll get through this!

I shudder to acknowledge that it is March 2008 and I am only NOW announcing the completion of this album. Most of the songs on “Lady” have been around for a long long time and they’ve become tired in my throat as I’ve sung them place to place. I regret that its been often unpleasant to mix and complete songs that are no longer on the fringe of my tongue and heart. 

So here it is. It’s the 3rd TaughtMe album. “Lady” is layered less densely than “Arms as Traps”. That was intentional. I wanted to strip things down a bit. Heres a list of the songies:

The album will be available in September. It will be released in Europe by my friends at OWN records and in the states by my friends Kilby records.

*I live in San Francisco now. Hello! “Lady” is trudging ever closer to a finale. The move has hampered the efforts to get it done. Slowly, surely. Once it is complete, Ben and I begin work on “headworms” (the new Uzi & Ari disk). Exciting. I am working to build a studio space in my new home town. Though these efforts certainly are slowing impeding “Lady”, I can’t help but be excited about these new distractions.
